Requirements
To be eligible for physiotherapy, you generally need a valid medical prescription. This means that if you have any complaints, you should first consult a doctor who will prescribe physiotherapy for you.
For therapies covered by the health insurance (KVG), we require your health insurance information. If you had an accident, we also need the details of your accident insurance, including the claim number.
For a physical check-up, performance test (such as RTS), training tips, counseling session, massage, or similar services, you do not need a prescription. You can book and pay these services privately.
Yes, you are generally allowed to bring your dog to the practice. However, dogs are not permitted in the fitness studio area. Since we may need to leave the therapy room and go to the fitness area during your therapy session, it is important that your dog can stay alone for a few minutes as well.
Procedure
We usually allocate 30 minutes for your session. Within these 30 minutes, approximately 25 minutes are dedicated to therapy time. Additionally, administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, treatment documentation, and pre- and post-treatment preparation are included. If you feel that 30 minutes is not sufficient, please let us know, and we can discuss alternative options for you.
To make the most of your therapy time, it is advisable to change into appropriate clothing before the session. Changing rooms (including lockers, showers, etc.) are available on the first floor.
Physical contact is a fundamental requirement for many therapeutic interventions. Please bring suitable clothing in which you feel comfortable. If you are coming for treatment involving the lower body, it would be desirable for you to bring shorts.
Active therapy is an important component of our practice philosophy. Therefore, at some point, you will likely get to know the training area. If possible, bring appropriate sportswear. If you are already aware that active exercises will be part of your therapy session, you are welcome to warm up briefly in the training area before the start of the session, so that we can begin together right away.
In the first session, we offer you a complimentary 30 minutes of therapy! We allocate 60 minutes of our time to ensure we have enough time to get to know each other, complete the necessary administrative tasks, and dive straight into the therapy. Ideally, you should have received a mail with questionnaires from us before your first appointment. Please fill them out before our session to save therapy time. You can also send us your prescription and other important documents along with the questionnaires before your session. If this is not possible, please bring your health insurance card, prescription, and any relevant documents to the initial assessment.
A regular appointment lasts 30 minutes, with 25 minutes dedicated to therapy and 5 minutes for administrative tasks.
It would be ideal if you could change into your therapy attire in the changing rooms before your appointment. You can request a locker key at the reception of the fitness studio.
We strive to treat you as effectively and efficiently as possible. This includes starting each session with a few follow-up questions to monitor your progress. After that, we will continue working towards achieving your goals.
A regular medical prescription allows you to attend up to 9 physiotherapy sessions. However, often this is not sufficient to achieve satisfactory therapeutic results. If needed, your doctor can issue additional prescriptions for you. Communication with your doctor is an important aspect of your therapy. After 6 sessions, we will provide your doctor with a report on the therapy progress and inform them about the further therapy planning, ensuring an optimal rehabilitation process.
Legal matters
As previously mentioned, a regular medical prescription allows you to attend up to 9 physiotherapy sessions. However, there can be exceptions to this limitation. If 9 sessions are not sufficient, the doctor can extend the therapy by issuing additional prescriptions.
Only one therapy session per day can be billed on a single prescription. That is why we usually offer 30-minute sessions. In the first session, we provide you with 30 minutes of therapy as a gift to ensure we have enough time to deliver high-quality treatment. If you find that 30 minutes per session is not sufficient, we can discuss alternative options together to accommodate your needs.
If you cancel or forget a scheduled appointment at short notice, we are unable to bill the health insurance company for that session. As a result, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50 CHF, which will be invoiced to you privately.
Costs and Rates
The reimbursement for physiotherapy treatment is determined by santesuisse and physioswiss through a tariff structure. The categorization within the tariff structure is based on the medical diagnosis and your physical condition, including any additional diagnoses. These tariffs apply nationwide to all physiotherapy practices in Switzerland (with possible adjustments at the cantonal level).
There are four main tariff classifications established in this regard. This includes the classification as "regular physiotherapy" or "complex physiotherapy". Additionally, there is a distinction based on whether your diagnosis is regarded as an "illness" or "accident".
Z2 Physio does not have any influence on the pricing of your treatment based on a medical prescription. The pricing is determined by the tariff structure set by santesuisse and physioswiss, as mentioned earlier. Z2 Physio will adhere to these predetermined tariffs when billing for your treatment.

No, you do not. As long as you have a valid prescription from a doctor, it is not a problem if you don't have it with you on your first visit. However, please make sure to provide it as soon as possible. It is legally not allowed to start the physiotherapy treatment without a valid prescription. Please keep in mind that you can attach the prescription to the questionnaire you will receive from us before your first session and therefore you can already hand in all you important documents before entering the pracitce.
For more information, please visit the Patient Information section.
Physiotherapy is considered part of primary healthcare in Switzerland. Therefore, physiotherapy appointments require a medical prescription. A physiotherapy prescription usually allows for 9 sessions. If additional appointments are necessary, we need to consult your doctor and discuss further steps. We are happy to take care of this for you.
Usually, a prescription is valid for 5 weeks. The validity of a prescription is determined by the first appointment recorded on that specific prescription in relation to the date of issue. For example, if your prescription was issued on April 1st, you should schedule and complete the first appointment no later than the first week of May.
Currently, the answer is no. In Switzerland, physiotherapy is considered part of primary healthcare and can only be provided with a medical prescription.
However, you are welcome to book private appointments for health consultations, training monitoring, massages, and more. Please note that the costs incurred for these services will not be covered by your insurance.
If you forget your prescription during your initial appointment, it is not a problem. For more information, please refer to the section "Appointments".
Yes, you are allowed to switch to a different practice. You have the freedom to choose where and with whom you want to receive therapy. If you have already started treatment at one practice and now want to switch to another practice, you need to inform the new practice that previous appointments have been billed on the prescription. The total number of 9 appointments per prescription is not affected by the switch.
Billing and Payment
Physiotherapy is considered part of primary healthcare in Switzerland. Therefore, we directly bill all physiotherapy services to your health insurance or accident insurance.
However, as we offer more than just traditional physiotherapy, we also have services that are not covered by insurance. These services will be billed privately. We discuss all self-pay services with you and tailor them to your needs. In physiotherapy, you will not incur any additional costs. For more information, please refer to our self-pay services.
We aim to offer you more than just "traditional" physiotherapy. Therefore, we are pleased to provide you with modern equipment for body analysis, performance diagnostics and special therapy methods. However, some of these services may not be covered by insurance and will be billed privately. You can find more information about our offerings here, and details about our pricing can be found here.
Physiotherapie
A physiotherapy appointment typically consists of approximately 25 minutes of therapy time and 5 minutes of administration time.
However, for the initial appointment, we allocate 60 minutes of time, allowing for an extended session and providing you with an additional 30 minutes of therapy.
It depends on your individual health situation and goals. Some key components of physiotherapy at our practice include needs analysis, education, self-help support, stress management, load management, mobilization, and active movement/training. We tailor the treatment plan to address your specific needs and work towards your goals.
Usually, yes. We strive to schedule your appointments with the same therapist so that you can build a rapport and work together on a logical and effective treatment plan. However, sometimes it can be beneficial to receive input from a different therapist, as each therapist has their own focus and perspective. Therefore, a temporary or permanent change of therapist can have a positive impact on your treatment process.
Training
You are welcome to begin warming up a few minutes before your therapy session starts. Since we are integrated into a gym, we cannot allow you to have completely unrestricted training outside of your therapy time. If you would like to supplement your therapy with additional training, we can discuss the option of Medical Training Therapy (MTT) or you can inquire with Let's Go Fitness about day passes or other membership options.
"MTT" stands for "Medical Training Therapy." It is a complement to physiotherapy and is prescribed by a physician. If your insurance covers it, MTT allows you to engage in supplementary training alongside your physiotherapy. For more information, please feel free to speak directly with us, as we would be happy to explain it to you in detail.
The costs for physiotherapy are directly billed to your insurance. This also applies to MTT if it is approved by your insurance.
You are also welcome to sign up at Let's Go Fitness. The gym is "Qualitop" certified. Many insurances contribute to the costs of fitness programs with this quality seal.
We cannot give you orders, but we can only provide recommendations. Additionally, making general statements in the medical/health field is always challenging. However, to put it briefly: Yes, we recommend that you regularly engage in exercises, including doing them at home if necessary.
